Stanford Linear Accelerator Center

- Particle Physics Laboratory in Northern California

Architect and Developer of initial version of AIDA which provides generic distributed  high speed programmatic access to thousands of high energy physics control devices in the US through a distributed and evolving control mechanism. 

This CORBA based framework worked in a large number of programming languages and allowed access to data across many different types of computer system used throughout the laboratories and within beam control systems

  • Created innovative unified data acquisition and control framework for particle accelerators - AIDA

Department of Works and Pensions,

 - United Kingdom Government

Provided Software Engineers working on DWP Global systems and services. Part of team that rolled out a new high availability, distributed system for use in Social Security offices throughout the UK by over 140,000 concurrent users. 

Human readable UML flowcharts and activity diagrams that described government policy were automatically converted to XML and then interpreted and rendered as interactive screens in the front end web based UI as forms for agents to capture information while interacting with benefit seekers. 

Wrote various parts of the whole process from the conversion of the UML diagrams into XML, to writing interpreters, logic builders and UI renderers.  Also worked on provisioning of this highly scalable and highly tolerant system that incorporated robust government audited change controls
